News: 'A Ruddy Awful Waste' - Book of the Month

Published 25 November 2016, 11:47

Flt Lt Eric Lock (Britain at War Archive/Key Collection)

Hardback, 246 pages. Fighting High

Just in time for Christmas, our Book of the Month this December is Steve Brew's A Ruddy Awful Waste: Eric Lock DSO, DFC & Bar, a biography of Flt Lt Eric Lock, one of the RAF's greatest Battle of Britain heroes.

Britain at War editor, Andy Saunders, reviewed this title. With an biographical assessment of this particularly exceptional pilot being long overdue, this necessary and sole example of work on the highest scoring RAF ace of the Battle of Britain was sure to impress. To find out what he thinks of Steve Brew's fantastic research and writing, turn to page 108 in your December issue of Britain at War!
